Peter Parker tries to mess with time in first trailer for 'Spiderman: No Way Home'

It is finally here. The first trailer for the new Spider-man movie. The trailer was teased a few days ago when some footage was leaked. Sony quickly took it down, but damage already done. It could have been why we got the trailer or it could have already been planned. Who knows. But let's dive in to the good stuff. In this movie, Peter (Tom Holland) is dealing with the damage that was done by Mysterio when he revealed that Peter is Spider-man. MJ (Zandaya) is trying to help him cope with the problems that is coming with the infamany but it becomes too much for Peter and he enlists the help of Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to help people forget about what was told, but obviously Peter messes it up and now him and Strange have to try and fix it. The biggest and best surprise is that we got to see some familiar faces. We already know that Alfred Molina (Dr. Oct), Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), and Jamie Foxx (Electro) are going to return to the Spider-verse and we have been told ...

Sam and Bucky try to stop Karli before she attacks the government in 'The Falcon and Winter Soldier' finale

The finale is finally here and we were not disappointed. In the season finale, titled 'One World, One People', Sam and Bucky race to New York to try and stop the Flag Smashers from their attack.  Sharon quickly joins the fight to help, stating that 'I heard pardons were overrated' and helps Bucky and Sam try and take down the vote and the Flag Smashers. Sam premieres his new Captain America suit and it's amazing! It fits him well and it makes Steve's choice the right choice for Captain America.  Karli has seriously lost control of the situation as she is no longer caring about the message that they first agreed to, but sending out the message she wants, which is that the Flag Smashers should be feared. Walker makes an appearance as his version of Captain America with the fake shield that he made in the cut scene from the last episode, wanting to avenge Lemar.  Sam's resourcefulness and unwillingness to give up shows why he's perfect. He may not have the ...

Walker faces the consequences of his actions in episode 5 of 'The Falcon and Winter Soldier'

In this week's episode, Walker faces off against Sam and Bucky right out of the gate as they try to get the shield from him, knowing that the government is going to punish him. It is a very intense fight because now that Walker has the serum, he is not so easy to fight. It's almost like taking out Steve himself. By the end, Bucky gets the shield and not so subtly gives it back to Sam saying what he's been saying all along. Walker of course, gets his titles stripped of him and gets honorable discharged, but with no benefits. This is the part of the episode where we get some realism as I am sure some soldiers have to face when they do things that they may not morally agree with or if they make mistakes. The government sees the soldiers as numbers and do not see them as people.  After court, we get to see Val for the first time and it's none other then the fabulous Julia-Louis Dreyfus, returning for the first time since her battle and victory against cancer. If you have ne...

Walker causes issues for Sam and Bucky in episode 4 of 'The Falcon and Winter Soldier'

In this week's episode, Bucky, Sam, and Zemo are racing against the clock to try and find the Flag Smashers. This one is a long one with a lot of things happening so strap in and let's go.  The show starts off on a very depressing note, so be careful. We get to see how Bucky was able to get past the codes with the help of the Wakanda. It's very emotional to see Bucky face his fears and a turning point for his character. The solider for Wakanda gives Bucky 8 hours to finish their mission before they come to get Zemo. So they have to find Karli before she disappears and it's too late. Of course, Zemo is able to get the information but he is not going to share all of it knowing that Bucky and Sam are going to turn him in. Sam enlists the trust of Sharon (who is very reminiscent of her role on Revenge with her low voice and connections everywhere).  Walker comes in hot wanting to take control of the situation. Sam of course wants to try and talk to Karli, trying to deesca...

Some familiar faces return in this week's 'The Falcon and Winter Solider'

In this week's episode, titled 'Power Broker', Bucky takes the lead as he and Sam try to figure out how to take down the Flag Smashers. He knows that since they are not working the government resources they are going to have to be creative and think outside the box. Enter Zemo. If you don't remember him, he was in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War and he was the one that used to control Bucky. He is the one that added gasoline to the fire that ignited the war between Stark and Rogers because of Bucky. It is a little surprising that Bucky would want to try to bring in someone that created so much chaos.  But Zemo does produce. He is able to help the duo find a lead and help them get some information. More importantly, it leads to the second familiar face, Sharon Carter. She has been on the run for the past five years. While in the last episode, Sam was the one that was being ostracized, he learns that not everyone benefited from the Aveng...

Bucky and Sam try to deal with a new Captain America in 'The Falcon and Winter Soldier' episode 2

In this week's episode, titled 'The Star-Spangled Man', John Walker is taking over for Steve Rogers as Captain America and is adjusting to what that role means for America. In the meantime, Sam is continuing to try and take down the Flag Smashers, now with Bucky in tow. But these Smashers are not typical human, but an army of super soldiers, something that Bucky is very familiar with. Walker tries to join in the fight, but Sam and Bucky want nothing to do with him.  Bucky is having a hard time seeing someone else yield the shield. Sam doesn't like it either, but he understand that he made a choice and he has to live with the consequences. Captain America, Walker, seems like he would fit the bill on the surface. He seems like a carbon copy of Steve Rogers, but it's not until we get towards the end of the show that we see a darker side of Walker.  We get to see more of the Flag Smashers in this show and see why they are doing what they are doing. In their opinion, the...

Sam and Bucky begin to move on from their friend in 'The Falcon and Winter Soldier' premiere

The next Marvel show is upon us. Sam Wilson, The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes, Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) are returning to their roles in this 6-episode season. The show is taking over the amazing start to the Marvel shows from WandaVision that exceeded fans expectations. The bar has been set high for this season and time will tell if they are able to meet that bar. At the beginning of the episode, Sam is struggling with the responsibility of holding the shield, still believing that he is not 'worthy'. He ends up donating it to the museum dedicated to Captain America. Obviously this is a short-term loan as we see him later on with the shield, so no need to get to worried.  The opening action sequence has Sam introducing a new character, Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez, On my Block ). Like with WandaVision you can tell that the graphics will not be on the level that we have seen in the movies. But considering that the budget is not as high as a movie, the show met...

Wanda learns about her powers in the series finale of 'WandaVision'

This episode, titled 'The Series Finale' is the longest of the season and there is a whole lot going on so it's very easy to miss something. The main storyline is Wanda facing off against Agatha while Vision rushes to her in order to get some answers about his past.  The show picks up right where the last episode left off with Wanda trying to save Billy and Tommy from Agatha. Obviously after some trial and error, she is able to defeat the wicked witch (with a nod to Wizard of Oz ). Vision joins up with her and is no longer questioning her decisions and not looking to save her. But to help her. Once again, Vision for swooning win.  Outside of the Hex, Hayward has found Woo is looking to keep him out of the way while he gets ready to attack Wanda with White Vision. He jumps at the opportunity to go inside the Hex and it causes more of an inconvenience for the battle then anything. Real honest, it felt forced and not really adding anything to the story line but to flick ar...

Agatha tries to figure out Wanda in episode 8 of 'WandaVision'

If you haven't wanted episode 7 yet, I would hold off on watching this until then. If you have, then let's dive in. We found out at the end of the last episode that Agnes is really Agatha Harkness (much to not that many's surprise). The biggest question is, is she a good guy or a villain? In the comic book, she dabbles a bit with both sides.  The show starts with seeing how Agatha got all her powers and why she is so determined to know how Wanda did what she did. No surprise, it is power. So she takes Wanda to her past to find out what 'broke her' and how she got her powers.  Back to the past. We see what happened before the explosion when her parents died when she was 10 and Agatha believes that it was because of Wanda that the Stark bomb didn't explode. This is the part where we see Wanda's love for sitcoms began. We see DVD copies of Dick Van Dyke show, Malcom in the Middle, I Love Lucy. All the shows that we believed the first episodes of this season we...

Marvel announces the official title for the next 'Spider-man' movie

Yesterday, the stars of the Spider-man movies Tom Holland, Zandeya, and Jacob Batalan teased different titles that they believed the next movie was going to be called. It was a prelude for today, where Marvel officially announced the title with the same three stars. The video shows Holland coming out of 'a meeting' but didn't get the title of the movie because he spoils things. He tries to defend his case while Batalan and Zandeya tell him  In other news, Tom Holland was promoting his new movie Cherry with Entertainment Weekly and he talked about the upcoming movie. He promises that there is 'not three Spider-man'. Now, of course Holland's been practicing and working on how to not say spoilers. This statement could mean that there could be two Spider-man (him and Miles Morales) or that Tobey McGuire (from 1st series) and Andrew Garfield (from 2nd series) could be in the movie as Peter Parker and not Spider-man. This would be a great mislead on Holland's p...

Wanda is struggling to keep control in episode 7 of 'WandaVision'

If you are not already hooked on Marvel’s new TV show on Disney+ WandaVision then this week’s episode will certainly have you hook, line, and sinker. This week’s show is titled ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’ and in some ways it breaks more walls then that. The show hits the 2000s and Modern Family seems to be the theme with some splashes of other sitcoms from the 2000s. I really enjoyed the commentary that Wanda and Vision have when they are talking to the camera. The glances and the 'knowing stare' from Vision are completely spot on.  Like the other episodes, this one is jam-packed with information so you need to make sure you are paying attention. Wanda is slowly but surely losing control of the Hex. The kids are noticing this and want to help but Wanda just thinks relaxing will help (not likely). In the reality part of the show, we discover that Hayward is trying to get Vision back so he can use him as a weapon (no surprise there). Monica and Jimmy meet with her friend (...

Hayward loses control of the mission in episode 6 of 'WandaVision'

Things are starting to escalate beyond control in this week's episode of Wandavision 'All New Halloween Spooktacular'. We hit the 90's and it looks like Malcom in the Middle influenced the introduction. Everything seems to be as had been in the past, but we quickly see that there is tension between Vision and Wanda.  Let's take a moment to look at the costumes. With it being Halloween, we get to see the characters in their costumes from the comic books. There are so many other Easter eggs that are spread throughout the episode. The other one that I found the most interesting is the movies that are playing in town. As seen below, The Incredibles and Parent Trap. Both movies are fitting, because Wanda's family is a family of heroes and she and Vision are essentially trapped where they are.  Back to the show.  Hayward is continuing to try and figure out how to take out Wanda (so once again a man tears down the company that a woman has built). Monica questions eve...

Falcon and Winter Soldier team up to try and take down an anarchist group

It's no surprise that there would be a full trailer release for the next Marvel show hitting Disney+. The Falcon and Winter Soldier reunites two friends of Captain America, Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) are trying to take over for Cap's duties and it starts with an anarchist group, called the Flag-Smashers that is threatening America.  The trailer starts off with a woman talking to Falcon and Winter Soldier, trying to get them to communicate (looks like they are in therapy). Before we see them both in action. The fighting sequences look epic and even though this is going to be an episodic show, it won't feel like it. And considering how well WandaVision is doing, I am sure it will be amazing. Even though most of the focus is on Falcon and Winter Soldier, we do see some familiar faces. The first being Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) who has been on the run since Civil War. The other familiar face that we see Helmet ...

We get to see the other side of reality in episode 4 of 'WandaVision'

In this week's episode of 'WandaVision' titled "We Interrupt this Program" follows Monica as she returns from the blip (aka Iron Man's return snap). She is looking for her mother, Maria, and learns that she has disappeared for five years and that her mom died of cancer three years prior. This is sad news for fans of Monica who we met in Captain Marvel. I know I was hopeful to seeing a crossover with that character in the Marvel universe again.  Le sigh. But we do learn that Maria was one bad-ass MF as she created the new SHIELD, called SWORD (Sentient Weapon Operation Response Division). Monica returns to work at SWORD and is sent on a mission to Westview, New Jersey. We see some familiar faces once we get here. FBI Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park - the FBI agent trying to keep Scott Lang on his parole in Ant-Man and the Wasp ) and Darcy (Kat Dennings - Natalie Portman's assistant in Thor and Thor 2 ) returns and basically is the reason why they can figure a...

The WandaVision family becomes four in the latest episode 'Now in Color'

WandaVision jumps to the 70's in this episode and that includes color! The show feels and looks very much like The Brady Bunch in this episode. Again, the show goes right to the line of what the shows were like in the 70's, but does not go over the top.  We know that Wanda is pregnant in this episode (as it was at the end of the last episode) and because Vision is the father, it's going to be an expedited pregnancy. All done in about fifteen minutes of the show. They have twins! In my head, I went straight to the fact that Elizabeth's sisters are twins and how that is funny ironic and completely forgot that her character is a twin. DUH! The show ends in a true Marvel fashion. There is a tension-filled moment with Geraldine (aka Maria) because Wanda talks about her twin brother Pietro. Geraldine makes the mistakes of stating that she know Pietro was killed by Ultron. Wanda breaks from her fantasy and doesn't like the fact that Geraldine is breaking her fantasy so s...

Wanda and Vision take us back to old family sitcoms in the first two episodes of 'WandaVision'

It is finally upon us. Marvel is finally releasing new material. This is exactly what fans need after the disastrous of a year of 2020. Granted we weren't getting a whole lot of new footage in 2020, but the fact that Black Widow was delayed for over a year was enough to get any fan upset. 2021 is going to have quite the line up for Marvel with WandaVision kicking it off. The show returns Paul Bettany as Vision and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff. The show is going to pay homage to all the classic sitcoms and they do it in a way that is not over the top (thank God). The first two shows may be a little of slow going for some fans that expect a lot of action, but give it time. Marvel has done well at connecting all the dots. Let's not lose hope. But let's get to the show. WandaVision stars Wanda Maximoff and Vision as they are living their life like famous sitcoms. The first episode looked to pay homage to Leave it to Beaver with a touch of I Love Lucy. Wanda a...

Marvel Studios announces plan for Disney+ and the next phase

Marvel has been in the headlines today not only releasing the schedule for their next phase, but also releasing first looks at some of their new shows. Today, they released a trailer for The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, What if?, and Ms. Marvel. Hailee Steinfeld makes her first appearance as Kate Bishop in the first still released from Hawkeye.  Let's start at the top. The Falcon and Winter Soldier is probably one of the most anticipated shows coming to Disney+. It starts Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. They are taking over the role of Captain America (which makes sense because he does the work of two heroes)  The show is set to come out in March 2021. It is about time that Loki is the star of his own story. He is the villain that we all love and one that we all wish would win once in a while (if you need a reason why, watch the second Thor). It looks like Loki is going to be on the, dare I say, good side with this miniseries on Disney+. There is no release tim...

'The New Mutants' - a fantastical disappointment

This is the first movie that Marvel is a part of since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, movie side. It takes place in the X-Men world and it follows Danielle Moonstar (Blu Hut, CW's The Originals) as she goes to a clinic to try and figure out what her power is and learn how to control it. To be fair to this movie, I hadn't watched a trailer recently or read anything about before going in. I was expecting it to be a superhero movie (ie action, fighting, a wee bit of drama, and probably some romance since it is a teenager movie) and while those things are in there, I didn't expect the horror side to it. No, it's not the slasher type of horror, but there are characters that may still give you nightmares (ie the smiley face man).  The story does seem to have a chance to be expanded in more of the universe but I am not sure that fans will be as interested in it.  The graphics are what I call fantastical. They were pretty good and realistic but it felt a bit of a stretch ...
