Some familiar faces return in this week's 'The Falcon and Winter Solider'

In this week's episode, titled 'Power Broker', Bucky takes the lead as he and Sam try to figure out how to take down the Flag Smashers. He knows that since they are not working the government resources they are going to have to be creative and think outside the box.

Enter Zemo.

If you don't remember him, he was in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War and he was the one that used to control Bucky. He is the one that added gasoline to the fire that ignited the war between Stark and Rogers because of Bucky. It is a little surprising that Bucky would want to try to bring in someone that created so much chaos.

But Zemo does produce. He is able to help the duo find a lead and help them get some information. More importantly, it leads to the second familiar face, Sharon Carter. She has been on the run for the past five years. While in the last episode, Sam was the one that was being ostracized, he learns that not everyone benefited from the Avengers winning the war against Thanos. Bucky has been pardoned  by the government, but Sharon hasn't.

Sam makes a deal with Sharon that if she helps them find the scientist making the super-soldier serum (which I will be calling SSS) then he will get her pardoned. I have a feeling that won't be as easy as he thinks it will be. But she agrees and she kicks some MAJOR butt while they are interrogating the scientist. After that sequence, you see that there is more to Sharon's story and she is going to be playing a bigger part in the future.

As the show comes to an end Sam has to figure out how much he can trust Zemo and while he doesn't seem the most trustworthy, you can't help but at least want to keep him coming along. He is like the new Loki in the sense where you can't trust him as far as you can throw him, but you know it's going to be worth keeping him around. And to be fair, Zemo became a 'villain' because his family was killed by the Avengers.

The show once again gives us an excellent action sequence and presents a major set up for what is going to come in the next three episodes. Zemo still hasn't revealed his intentions with helping Sam and Bucky and I wouldn't be surprised if he does something nefarious in the next few episodes. Sharon is playing a game of her own and she will likely throw a wrench into the plans of Sam and Bucky. Maybe she is the one behind the SSS?

What did you think of the episode?

Wanda is struggling to keep control in episode 7 of 'WandaVision'

If you are not already hooked on Marvel’s new TV show on Disney+ WandaVision then this week’s episode will certainly have you hook, line, and sinker. This week’s show is titled ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’ and in some ways it breaks more walls then that. The show hits the 2000s and Modern Family seems to be the theme with some splashes of other sitcoms from the 2000s. I really enjoyed the commentary that Wanda and Vision have when they are talking to the camera. The glances and the 'knowing stare' from Vision are completely spot on.  Like the other episodes, this one is jam-packed with information so you need to make sure you are paying attention. Wanda is slowly but surely losing control of the Hex. The kids are noticing this and want to help but Wanda just thinks relaxing will help (not likely). In the reality part of the show, we discover that Hayward is trying to get Vision back so he can use him as a weapon (no surprise there). Monica and Jimmy meet with her friend (...

This loss of focus now puts Piper in the hands of a twisted nemesis, and The Devil’s Dust Motorcycle Club is not just falling apart because of it, it’s losing members faster than t...

Review: 'Dominik' by Sawyer Bennett - Can Dominik tame Willow's wild heart?

In the 6th book of the series, Dominik takes the lead as he tries to get Willow out of his thoughts, but that proves more difficult the more time he spends with her. Willow doesn't want to tie herself down to this man, but the more she fights, the harder she falls. When you do book series like this, it's hard to like every single one. Especially when you unintentionally compare the books with one another. I had a hard time liking the relationship with Dominik and Willow. Perhaps its that we didn't really get to see the beginning (you hear about it in other books) or maybe I just didn't like the way that they are together. It just didn't tickle my fancy. They didn't have that 'it' factor that separates the story from others. I did enjoy the cat and mouse game that Willow was playing with Dominik. That part was entertaining. See a man of Dominik stature get frustrated and make moves that I am sure are out of his character. But even that got old aft...
