Review In this book, we go back into The Fighting world (something I didn't catch on until about 20% of the way in the book when we find out Carey's last name). Carey is blasted with someone from his past and he has a secret that he needs to Rowan if he wants any chance to have a future with her. The story is a quick read, and to be honest it's written that way. I really enjoyed the Fighting books and this one didn't quite meet my expectations. It felt very much like a novella but was a bit longer then the typical length. The fact that it is a quick book, there wasn't a whole lot of development for the characters. We have a bit of a background for Carey, but there is nothing really for Rowan. I would have liked to have dove deeper into her background. I did enjoy the back and forth between the characters.
