Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward team up for another book ‘My Favorite Souvenir’

MY FAVOURITE SOUVENIR Release date: April 27th, 2020 A Standalone Contemporary Romance New York Times Bestselling Authors Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland   BLURB My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet. When I realized there were two rooms, instead of calling him out, I pretended to be his sister. That’s how the story of “Milo and Maddie Hooker” began. We were the Hookers. My depressing trip quickly made a U-turn into an adventure. My fake brother spent the next few days showing...

'The Mandalorian - 'Episode 2' - Retrieving Stolen Goods

Once you are able to get over the shock with the ending of the first episode, TM now has to get Baby Yoda back to the man that is willing to pay lots of silver for him. But not so easy when his ship is broken down to the core. Say what you will about the acting, but Pascal is phenomenal as the star. Do you know how hard it is to express emotion without being able to see his face? He does such an amazing job (add in the helpfulness with the director styles with closeups and long holds). We are able to see his annoyance, his pain, his tiredness just based on his tone and the way he carries himself. This stuff can't be overlooked. As the show progresses, he asks for help from Kuiil (voiced by Nick Nolte, The Ridiculous 6). Let's pause here for a second. He's only been in maybe a handful of scenes but he steals everyone. He's got a catchphrase that surprises me hasn't been taped to different memes. 'I have spoken' should be the perfect meme when some...

Penelope Ward’s latest book ‘One More Year’ is now available

JUST ONE YEAR IS LIVE! From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel. SYNOPSIS The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start. On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom. (The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.) I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat. So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb—the British guy from the men’s room. And so it began…my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order? The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons. Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain. He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me. That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was. So frustrating. And… Sometimes incredibly...

Review: 'Dominik' by Sawyer Bennett - Can Dominik tame Willow's wild heart?

In the 6th book of the series, Dominik takes the lead as he tries to get Willow out of his thoughts, but that proves more difficult the more time he spends with her. Willow doesn't want to tie herself down to this man, but the more she fights, the harder she falls. When you do book series like this, it's hard to like every single one. Especially when you unintentionally compare the books with one another. I had a hard time liking the relationship with Dominik and Willow. Perhaps its that we didn't really get to see the beginning (you hear about it in other books) or maybe I just didn't like the way that they are together. It just didn't tickle my fancy. They didn't have that 'it' factor that separates the story from others. I did enjoy the cat and mouse game that Willow was playing with Dominik. That part was entertaining. See a man of Dominik stature get frustrated and make moves that I am sure are out of his character. But even that got old aft...

Review - 'A Favor for a Favor' by Helena Hunting - a fun and enjoyable read as Stevie leaves her brother's shadow

In the 2nd book of the series, it centers on Rooke's sister, Stevie as she tries to recover from the sudden break up with her boyfriend. She moves in across the hall from a man that hates her brother, Bishop, and she is inclined to do the same, until an opportunity presents itself and she finds that she may see more in him. I really liked the beginning of their relationship. The little competition that they had with their underwear. It was funny, cute, and really dictated how their relationship was going to go. All that boils over when they finally get together and they could just be 'the cutest thing ever' and I didn't think that was possible after reading Rooke's book. Probably the one thing that I didn't like was Joey (and not because of what he did) and just that whole interaction that he was having with Stevie. I didn't like that it took her so long to finally stand up for herself because on so many levels he was boarderline stalking her and I am pr...

Review - 'Wild at Heart' by KA Tucker has Calla finding out who she is in this world

This book is a sequel to 'The Simple Wild' and has Calla rushing back to Alaska to be with Jonah after he makes a grand gesture to ask her to move back to Alaska with him. Jonah is Alaska. If you ever watched 'Alaskan Bush People' that is him. He loves the state and he loves what he does. It's obvious that while he states that he would go back to civilization for Calla, it's not something that he would love. Calla knows that she is going to have to be the one to make the sacrifices in order to make him happy. And that is ok. That's how relationships work. With that knowledge, we get to join Calla on this adventure as she tries to figure out who she is in the world and who she will be in Alaska. She needs to reinvent her self because the version of herself that used to be will not be happy and thrive in Alaska. I have watched those reality shows that take place in Alaska and it's a beautiful state but it does take a certain type of person to rea...

Get a first look at 'Just One Year' by Penelope Ward

JUST ONE YEAR (A standalone) Release date: 2/24/2020 From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel. Excerpt Reveal: Copyright © 2019 By Penelope Ward I stormed up the stairs and headed straight to my old room—his room. But when I got to the top of the stairwell, I swallowed the words I’d been prepared to unleash. The unexpected sight of Caleb doing pull-ups met my eyes. He used a bar affixed to the top of the door to lift himself up. He wore a T-shirt that rode up each time he rose. His hard abs were now staring me in the face, ripples of carved muscle. He had black wrist wraps on. He’d turned my old room into a home gym. He was a bastard—but there was no denying he was beautiful. I cleared my throat. “Did my father give you permission to put that thing in the doorway?” The house shook as he landed on his feet. “Well, hello, Teagan. Amazing how easy it is to walk up the stairs, isn’t it? He grabbed a towel and wip...

'The Mandalorian' - Episode 1 - Jon Favreau makes Stars Wars Interesting

I think I am in the minority with Star Wars . I have always watched the movies, but you wouldn't find me obsessing about it. Debating with people. Getting mad that the new movies are terrible (I'll admit that I like them better then Episodes I-III. Really didn't like Hayden Christiansen as Anakin). Anywho. I started watching this just because you can't escape the Baby Yoda memes. Also, people have been talking about how good the show is. But what really made interested in seeing it is that Jon Favreau is at the helm. Even though everyone gives credit to the Russo brothers for creating the Marvel Universe. That may true. But it's Favreau's Iron Man was the spark that started the flame. If the movie failed, there would be no Avengers. Again I get sidetracked. Let's get down to this new show on Disney+ for The Mandalorian . It's about a bounty hunter who takes a bounty that should just be like any other one, until he finds the target and it turns...

Get a first look of AL Jackson's latest book 'Kiss the Stars'

Kiss the Stars A Falling Stars stand-alone romance from A.L. Jackson Coming March 5th “You don’t even know what you’re asking for, princess.” She let go of a soft, cynical laugh. “I’m no princess, Leif.” No rational thought remaining, I edged up behind her like I had some kind of right. Pretending in that singular second that I wasn’t committing a thousand wrongs. Tension bound the room. Leaving me in shackles I couldn’t bear. Consequences be damned, I leaned in and murmured at her ear, “You’re right. You’re an angel. So sweet you’re unreal.” My fingertips grazed her hip. A shock raced up my arm. Need and lust and gluttony. I gulped, breathing her in. Cocoa and cream. She peeked back at me, everything in her demeanor shifting in a flash. Sadness flooding in. “Then why am I the one being condemned?”  Add to Goodreads   Amazon Live Alert  Want a Signed Paperback or Kiss the Stars Release Box?   PRE-ORD...
