Saint and Sin have to work together to take down a common enemy in 'Code Name: Heist' by Sawyer Bennett
Code Name: Heist (Jameson Force Security, Book #3) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: January 7, 2020
Synopsis:

I am a world-class thief. Or I was, before I got pinched and landed in prison. After I served my time, I decided to get on the right side of the law, or as much as my job at Jameson Force Security allows. The lines sometimes blur, which suits me just fine. My name might be Saint, but I’m a devil to most. My plan to go legitimate is going as anticipated, until my past and present collide in a big way. While in Paris preparing to take down a ring of highly specialized thieves, I come face-to-face with my biggest threat—and my most dangerous temptation. Sindaria “Sin” Westin was the love of my life, until her betrayal landed me behind bars. Now I’ve got to find a way to trust her again, at least long enough to pull off this job. When it becomes clear the price for this heist will be our lives, I realize I need to do whatever it takes to keep Sin safe, even if it means trading my life for hers. Because no matter the lies I’ve told myself, Sin’s greatest theft was the day she stole my heart.

Review
In this next
book of the series, we have Sin and Saint (ironic names for who they are as
people) as they have to get over their history and try to work together to take
down a common enemy. It’s a romance story at its core, but it has a bit of an
edge as we see if they can take down the villain.
I will admit
that sometimes with Bennett’s stories they can start to get a little cookie
cutter with her other stories. It’s hard to create new storylines. I think that
it was like William Shakespeare or someone like that, that said there is only 3
main storylines then just different versions of that main story line. Knowing that
doesn’t always take away from the story and sometimes it does. It’s why I don’t
like to read an author from start to finish with their books, because it’s hard
to read them as separate.
Saint is a
solid lead male. He is handsome, mamma’s boy, and caring. The only flaw would
just be how forgiving he was of Sin. He just took her at her word with no other
mention of it. Sin was a lot more interesting of a character and I wished that
we dove deeper into her psyche a bit more. But the story was really short
(shorter than normal for her books) so we didn’t get that.
It’s
important when reading this story that it’s not one that is going to knock you
off your feet, but it is very enjoyable to read. It’s got espionage, romance,
and suspense. Just don’t go into this story thinking it’s going to give you a
book hangover, because it won’t.
I really
enjoyed this story but there is a bit of a problem that I have with the ending.

At the end
when Mercier gets away, they are just like ‘oh we are well and clear because he
won’t tell on us.” And I’m like yeah you are clear with the cops but you bet
your butt he is going to come after you for betraying him. But it doesn’t sound
like they are at all worried. He is a man with many means and is going to want
to find them.
