About RAFE:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett comes a new story in her Arizona Vengeance series… I was living my dream until one phone call changed everything. As the second line center for the Arizona Vengeance, my mind has been on one thing—helping my team bring home a championship. But that all changed when I found out my dad had cancer and only months to live. In that moment, nothing mattered more than getting home to North Carolina to be by his side. That meant asking for the unthinkable—a trade to the Carolina Cold Fury. Now I’m home and when I’m not on the ice with my new team, I’m helping care for my dad. And in the midst of my grief, I find comfort from the one person I never expected. Calliope Ramirez stole my heart at a very young age. The beautiful, smart, headstrong girl next door, she was my first… everything. She has never forgiven me for leaving her, believing that I chose hockey over a future together. What she doesn’t understand is that every decision I made was for her, and I’ve never given up hope that one day we’d be together again. Watching my dad slip away is a harsh reminder of how short life can be, and having Calliope by my side makes me realize I was a damn fool before. That changes starting right now. Calliope Ramirez is mine and I’m not going to waste the second chance that I’ve been given. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

BOOK TRAILER

“Each time I read a new book in this series, I have a new favourite, they just keep getting better and better. This was an entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed.” ~ Erin, MI Bookshelf
"Is it weird that I want to give this book a standing ovation? It was just...so perfectly done. So beautifully written and so emotionally fulfilling. It was absolutely everything I was hoping for and my heart is overflowing with feels." ~ Shelly, Bookgasms Book Blog
"This series is by far eclipsing any other I have read by this author. This is the story of Dax and Regan. Brother's best friend, friends to lovers, hockey romance, and just a great read about two people who deserve to be happy together. " ~ Suzi, Obsessive Reading Disorder
“The writing was observantly insightful and sneakily emotive. . . . The storylines were briskly paced, well plotted, written with my favorite dual POV, and kept me continually entertained with a pleasantly engaging romance while also tickling my curiosity as I waited for the looming threat to arise.”—Books and Bindings
“Add together an incredibly sexy story and a swoon-worthy hero with the intensity of a hockey player and you have an absolute winner. Sawyer Bennett has long been an instant one-click author for me, and Erik’s story is a fantastic addition to the Arizona Vengeance series.”—Stacey Lynn, author of Knocked Up
“Forbidden fruit always tastes better! With the kick off of a new hockey series, Sawyer Bennett introduces us to the Arizona Vengeance team and brings us Bishop’s story. The characters are quick to grab attention, and keep us entertained throughout.”—Thoughts of a Blonde

Review

In this edition of 1001 Dark Nights, we join Rafe as he prepares to say good-bye to his father and help his new team win the championship. Let's add another piece of the puzzle. His first and big love is back in his life and he must deal with the consequences of leaving her behind.

Sometimes the 1001 Dark Nights books are a great addition to a series, and sometimes they are not. In this case, it didn't work out good for me. I would have liked to have had a full length novel for this story. I think that there was too many moving pieces and it didn't do his story justice. It was too rushed for the relationship portion of the Calliope and Rafe.

There are some tear-jerking moments. The scenes were Rafe is connecting with his father and as his father prepares for death (small spoiler) there are a lot of touching scenes that make you think about the parents you have in your life and how you should appreciate what times that you have left. This was my favorite part of the book, because this is where Bennett shines. It's these little moments because anytime you can get someone to cry from a book, means that you have created a moment that has taken someone out of the real world and into another one.

Rating: B

Wanda is struggling to keep control in episode 7 of 'WandaVision'

If you are not already hooked on Marvel’s new TV show on Disney+ WandaVision then this week’s episode will certainly have you hook, line, and sinker. This week’s show is titled ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’ and in some ways it breaks more walls then that. The show hits the 2000s and Modern Family seems to be the theme with some splashes of other sitcoms from the 2000s. I really enjoyed the commentary that Wanda and Vision have when they are talking to the camera. The glances and the 'knowing stare' from Vision are completely spot on.  Like the other episodes, this one is jam-packed with information so you need to make sure you are paying attention. Wanda is slowly but surely losing control of the Hex. The kids are noticing this and want to help but Wanda just thinks relaxing will help (not likely). In the reality part of the show, we discover that Hayward is trying to get Vision back so he can use him as a weapon (no surprise there). Monica and Jimmy meet with her friend (...

Review: 'Dominik' by Sawyer Bennett - Can Dominik tame Willow's wild heart?

In the 6th book of the series, Dominik takes the lead as he tries to get Willow out of his thoughts, but that proves more difficult the more time he spends with her. Willow doesn't want to tie herself down to this man, but the more she fights, the harder she falls. When you do book series like this, it's hard to like every single one. Especially when you unintentionally compare the books with one another. I had a hard time liking the relationship with Dominik and Willow. Perhaps its that we didn't really get to see the beginning (you hear about it in other books) or maybe I just didn't like the way that they are together. It just didn't tickle my fancy. They didn't have that 'it' factor that separates the story from others. I did enjoy the cat and mouse game that Willow was playing with Dominik. That part was entertaining. See a man of Dominik stature get frustrated and make moves that I am sure are out of his character. But even that got old aft...

'Sinful King' by Claire Contreras is now available

The Sinful King, a new, sexy, 100% stand-alone novel by New York Times bestselling author, Claire Contreras, is LIVE! If you had any ties to Marbella, it was impossible for you not to have heard the stories about Prince Elias and his debauchery. Every summer he arrived with his security detail and friends in tow and rented out a row of cottages near the water. Cottages that belonged to my family. Each of those summers, my parents sent me away – summer camp and later, boarding school. Anything to keep me away from the royals and their partying. I hadn’t been home in years, but when I finally come back for the summer, I see that not much has changed. Like all the summers I’d been gone, Prince Elias is back, but this time with an incognito security detail and no friends. This time, there is no partying, no noise, no crowds. No reason at all to even think he was there. I’m given strict orders not to talk to him, not to even look in his direction, but he makes t...
