Magnolia and Moses fight for their HEA in 'Madame Temptress' by Meghan March

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes the stunning conclusion to the highly-anticipated Magnolia Duet. I didn’t choose this path. No one would. I played the cards I was dealt. This life made me. This city made me. I won’t apologize for who I’ve become. Moses wouldn't have me any other way. He says he wants forever, and I’m starting to believe him. But I can’t outrun my past, and my sins are catching up with me. If it’s time to atone, I’ll gladly pay my penance. We might be getting our second chance, but we have to make it out alive first. Review In the last book of the duet, Magnolia and Moses have their work set up for them. They are still struggling trying to find the man that is trying to kill Magnolia and nothing they do seems to work. It's a chess match and it's going to take to the end to see who will win. The story is a bit slow at the beginning, but when it gets to the drama, it's going to be hard to pu...

Review - 'When We Collide' by AL Jackson - a angsty book that will keep you interested from start to finish

In this stand alone, William returns home to a family that he abandoned and the woman that broke his heart. He would like to think that he moved on, but she still owns him and it's only renewed when he sees her again. Maggie did her best to let William go, but when he returns to town, she has no choice but to face her past and decide if he's worth the risk. The story is very angsty and deals with some triggers for people so be careful when you read it. You will see the trigger relatively early in the book so you will know when to put it down. Jackson does a decent job at showing the danger and the hardship that comes with this kind of trigger but there are times when certain things were glazed over and not developed enough. At times, William annoyed me. He did a lot of selfish things for the fact that his heart got broken by this girl. Like what he did to his brother was harsh and considering how close they were, I didn't like that part of his character. Could it be...

'The Mandalorian' - Episode 7 - 'The Reckoning'

We are getting closer and closer to the end. You can feel it. There is this big build up for something that is going to happen with TM and you just know that something big is going to happen. There are still bounty hunters out there searching for The Child, which only intrigues to his abilities even more. We all know that The Child is just a baby Yoda and Yoda can do anything.  Let's try a new plan to try and buy ourselves more time. TM enlists the help of an unlikely source. Greef (Carl Weathers) returns with a deal that's supposed to benefit both of them. Not that we haven't heard that one before. But TM has no other options so he must do something. Good thing he has Cara (Gina Carano) there to back him up. She really is the only one that has proven herself. Side note, the scene where she is fighting people for bets is probably one of my favorites in season so far. It shows that she is a take no nonsense kind of character and I really think that if anyone could...

Review - 'Breaking Defense' by JB Salsbury - Carey tries to make up from the sins of his past

Review In this book, we go back into The Fighting world (something I didn't catch on until about 20% of the way in the book when we find out Carey's last name). Carey is blasted with someone from his past and he has a secret that he needs to Rowan if he wants any chance to have a future with her. The story is a quick read, and to be honest it's written that way. I really enjoyed the Fighting books and this one didn't quite meet my expectations. It felt very much like a novella but was a bit longer then the typical length. The fact that it is a quick book, there wasn't a whole lot of development for the characters. We have a bit of a background for Carey, but there is nothing really for Rowan. I would have liked to have dove deeper into her background. I did enjoy the back and forth between the characters. Once Carey decides that he does like Rowan and want her, he has to work for it. Rowan is not secure with herself in the relationship (that is until the li...

Read Sam and Jase get married in 'Sweet Destiny' by KC Lynn

Review In this short story (maybe 100 pages) we go back into the Sweet world as Sam and Jase are preparing for their wedding. They are still haunted with the dreams from their past life together and are wanting to start their forever, too bad their family won't allow it. If you didn't like Jase and Sam together before reading this story, you certainly will like them together after this book. But on the negative side, it makes me not like their parents a little bit. There are some times when you just like 'why, why is this happening?' I really hope that at some point we find out where this rivalry began and what caused such friction between the families. There isn't a whole lot of 'drama' or 'action' in the story. It's very much a fluff story. It's perfect for a quick read, easily read in an hour or two and it's one of those books that just gives you a 'nice' feeling when you are done. Rating: A Links Amazon About ...
